Skittles was introduced into the Community Games in 2008 at Under 12 for girls and a Mixed competition at Under 14. Since its introduction there has been great interest in the game and we are delighted that new areas are coming on board all the time. For anyone wishing to enter a team in the Community Games please contact your local area or county secretary or feel free to contact members of the Irish Skittles Association. (Details can be found on contacts page). May we remind you that team entry forms must be entered with your county secretaries in the first week of the new year.

Counties currently playing skittles:

Munster:        Tipperary, Limerick, Cork, Clare.

Ulster:            Cavan, Monaghan.

Connaught:     Galway, Sligo, Roscommon, Leitrim.

Leinster:         Kildare, Wicklow, Wexford, Dublin.

The Community Games Organisation has tailored the rules slightly and these rules are available in their Activities Rulebook - Skittles Rules http://www.communitygames.ie/index.php/download

We are delighted to announce that a number of changes were made to the skittles events at the Community Games National Annual General Meeting held on 26th February 2010 . These changes will take effect for 2011. It was agreed to introduce a Mixed Under-16 competition to the Games. The Under 12 competition was also changed to a Mixed event. From 2011 there will be Mixed skittle competitions  in the Community Games at Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16.

The National Finals will take place this year at Institute of Technology, Athlone on the 2nd National Finals Weekend 13th-15th August 2010.

Under 12 Girls     - Winners - St. Peter & Pauls, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.

                           - Runners Up - St. Michaels, Co. Sligo.

Under 14 Mixed  - Winners - Annagh / Drumlane, Co. Cavan.

                           - Runners Up - Ballyaghadereen, Co. Roscommon.
